Atene, Dinner, and a Silky Heart: Entry 4 of the Golden Week Grand Arc
Includes chapters 231 - 242.

Events
The group begins their trip from Mykonos to Athens by playing the "King Game", which involves cross-dressing Hayate. (Ch. 231)
Ayumu asks what Hayate's stone is and Nagi answers by saying what she knows about it as a "Stone of Bonds". (Ch. 231)
Hayate and Hinagiku meet on the balcony of Nagi's villa in Athens due to not being sleepy and Hinagiku ends up mentioning Athena, which shocks Hayate. (Ch. 231)
Hinagiku tells Hayate that Athena is Hakuou's board chairman and Hayate wanders off by himself into the city around the time that Hinagiku says that Mikado is one of the directors. (Ch. 232)
Hayate, while deep in thought about what he would say if he met Athena again, accidentally walks into her garden where he runs into her. (Ch. 232)
Athena acts like she doesn't know who Hayate is, tells him to leave, and Machina kicks him. (Ch. 233)
Athena stops Machina from fighting Hayate and locks Hayate out; Hayate decides to try to not bother Athena anymore and it is shown that Athena really does remember Hayate. (Ch. 233)
Hayate wanders around depressed until he is picked up by the Three Amigas, who try to cheer him up and tells him that Hinagiku knows Athena the best. (Ch. 234)
Hinagiku tells the story of how she knows Athena, beginning with how they met and ending with how they split up when Hinagiku decided to call Athena "A-tan" which causes Hayate to realize that Athena remembers him. (Ch. 234)
Hayate and Athena both think about what just happened that night. (Ch. 235)
Ayumu and Hinagiku talk about the upcoming dinner and Ayumu gives Hinagiku approval to confess to Hayate. (Ch. 235)
Nagi, Maria, Hayate, Ayumu, and Hinagiku begin sightseeing with Hayate spacing out and Hinagiku eventually going into shock from Nagi suggesting they take a helicopter to get around faster. (Ch. 235)
The group continues sightseeing with Ayumu realizing that Nagi is really rich, Hayate continuing to be depressed for various reasons, and Hinagiku displeased with all the air travel she is doing that day. (Ch. 236)
Hinagiku becomes unhappy when she misunderstands why Hayate is depressed, Maria manages to give Hayate good advice while still not fully understanding what is going on with Hayate, and Hinagiku decides that she must get her feelings across. (Ch. 236)
Ayumu tells Nagi that she wants to have a dinner with Hayate, but Nagi refuses and tells Ayumu that she, Nagi, will thank her, Ayumu, personally for helping Hayate; some time later Nagi takes Ayumu to a museum which she paid to be open for only her, Maria, and Ayumu. (Ch. 237)
Hayate thinks about what Nagi and Maria said to him while waiting for Hinagiku at the restaurant and when she arrives he compliments her on how she looks, which makes her happy. (Ch. 237)
In the restaurant, Hayate reminisces about Hinamatsuri and help Hinagiku to see the view outside in the same way as before. (Ch. 237)
The dinner for Hinagiku begins with Hinagiku enjoying the food, but unsure of how to express her feelings. (Ch. 238)
Ayumu and Nagi continues their museum tour and Ayumu talks about how her visit to the tomb of King Midas really got her interested in history. (Ch. 238)
The dinner continues with Hinagiku trying and failing to guide the conversation along and wondering if Hayate hates her; once the meal is over Hinagiku decides to ask Hayate the reason that he is depressed and put her goals on hold for a bit. (Ch. 238)
Hayate tells Hinagiku about his meeting with Athena the other night which brings her relief of not being the reason Hayate is depressed and causes Hinagiku to ask what Hayate's relationship with Athena is. (Ch. 239)
Hayate goes quiet as he ponders what his relationship with Athena is like and Hinagiku decides to finally confess to Hayate during the silence. (Ch. 239)
As Hinagiku begins her confession, Hayate interrupts and provides the answer to Hinagiku's previous question: that Athena is the one that he loves. (Ch. 239)
Hayate fills Hinagiku in on everything she needs to know about him and Athena so that she understands what is going on. (Ch. 240)
Now that she knows enough, Hinagiku advises Hayate to go to Athena to make sure that he isn't misunderstanding her. (Ch. 240)
Hayate takes Hinagiku's advice and goes to Athena's house, where he is stopped by Machina who starts to fight Hayate until Hayate stops him and says he needs to see Athena. (Ch. 240)
Athena thinks back to ten years ago when her and Mikado Sanzenin found the path to the Royal Garden shut after Athena left and wonders in Hayate took the "Power of Royalty". (Ch. 241)
Machina reveals that he doesn't want to let Hayate see Athena because he is worried that Hayate will hurt her and begins to beat Hayate thoroughly because he won't leave; Machina also suggests that he isn't human while beating Hayate. (Ch. 241)
Hinagiku thinks about how the night went while in the bath and becomes sad; Miki then pops up in the bath and touches Hinagiku to get her to smile and says that she wants the trip to end in smiles. (Ch. 242)
Nagi tells Maria to not ask Hayate about what is going on unless he brings it up as she wants the trip to be positive for Hayate. (Ch. 242)
Machina tries to take the King's Jewel from a unconscious Hayate, but Hayate comes back and prevents Machina from stealing the stone; Machina considers continuing to fight, but Athena gets him to bring Hayate in. (Ch. 242)
Commentary
This marks the beginning of when things get pretty serious during Golden Week and includes what is probably one of the most memorable moments for Hinagiku: Silky Heart. That single moment where Hayate tells Hinagiku that Athena is the one he loves has caused me to have to really think about my commentary for this post. I have to say that very little that occurs during the chapters this post covers could be seen as the most enjoyable things for the characters, but Silky Heart probably tops all for unpleasantness. That isn't to say that Silky Heart is purely negative though; on the contrary, it could be seen as one of the moments that exemplifies the capabilities of Hinagiku. This young woman has her confession cut off, gets to hear that the boy she likes is in love with another female, and then she, after collecting herself for maybe a minute, turns around and gives this same boy advice in how to be sure of his relationship with the other female. Hinagiku manages to do what many fictional and even real people are unable to do and for this reason she should be proud of the actions she took on that night in Athens.
